The Municipality informs its citizens that an open burning ban is in effect immediately and will remain in place until further notice.
This preventive measure is taken despite the absence of a provincial ban from SOPFEU, due to local conditions deemed to be at VERY high risk due to:
- Lack of rain
- Prolonged dry weather
- Sustained winds
- Increased risk to the safety of residents and infrastructures
Ban in effect :
- Campfires
- Land clearing fires
- Fireworks
- Any other open fire
Penalties : Any violator is subject to fines and interventions from fire services.
