The Municipality of Mansfield-et-Pontefract is pleased to share that the MRC Pontiac has officially launched its new Age-Friendly Municipality (MADA) Policy and Action Plan for 2026–2031!

As one of the 14 participating municipalities, Mansfield-et-Pontefract is proud to be part of this important regional initiative. The new plan is built on a powerful shared vision: By 2031, the Pontiac will be recognized as a territory where every senior ages in the heart of a caring, inclusive, and interconnected community.

Developed through extensive public consultation and community feedback, the plan focuses on nine key areas to better support our aging population, including:

  • Housing and living environments

  • Transportation and mobility

  • Social participation, leisure, and recreation

  • Health and social services

  • Respect, inclusion, and safety

This policy will guide our actions over the next five years to ensure our community remains accessible, welcoming, and adapted to the needs of our seniors. It represents a major step forward in promoting active aging, autonomy, and helping our older residents comfortably stay in their homes and communities longer.

We invite all residents to learn more about the MADA Action Plan and how we are working together to build an environment that benefits all generations.
