Remote area emergency services are intended for rescue situations, not roadside assistance. Before heading out, make sure someone knows your route, you have the necessary equipment, and a reliable means of communication.
Under By-law No. 308-2026, non-life-threatening or avoidable rescue calls in remote areas may result in charges of more than $2,000.
